PlayStation Plus new free game is 'my wish come true', fans agree

It's a highly anticipated one

There’s just one day left to wait until PlayStation Plus welcomes April’s extra and premium tier offerings.

Well, that’s not entirely true as Blue Prince joined the extra tier last week as a day one launch.

It’s perhaps a title that you might not have heard of, but you should definitely check out this indie puzzler.

It got a 10 out of 10 from GAMINGbible’s Ewan Moore and is sitting at 93 on Metacritic which means it’s usurped Split Fiction as the highest-rated game of 2025 so far.

If it’s not your cup of tea though, there’s plenty more choices landing tomorrow.

The extra tier is gaining Hogwarts Legacy, EA Sports PGA Tour, Battlefield 1, PlateUp! and day one release Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 2, joining the previously available Tape 1.

The premium tier will then also gain Alone in the Dark 2 and War of the Monsters.

While Blue Prince is my personal headliner, it’s Hogwarts Legacy that some PlayStation Plus subscribers are referring to as a “wish come true”.

You can take a look at Blue Prince in action below.

Hogwarts Legacy is well worth playing, and it’s great to see that opportunity finally granted to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

I have some issues with its wider open world which becomes pretty repetitive after you leave the wonder that is Hogwarts Castle itself, but the game's combat and story both deliver.

As the best-selling new release of 2023, many of us have likely already played this wizarding tale … but not all.

“I've waited around 799 days since the release of Hogwarts Legacy in 2023 and prayed almost every month for it to come to PS Plus. Now my wish has come true and I can't wait for a few hours to play this game. I love PS Plus,” wrote Reddit user Delicious_Maize9656.

“Without this service I don't think I would have a chance to play the game. I'm a big fan of HP, I've read every book and watched every film,” they continued.

That’s some hefty patience and dedication considering the amount of times the game has been discounted, but I guess you can only admire the hustle.

Well, my friend, your wish has been granted.

Maybe we should all start wishing for our most-wanted additions.
