Was it ever in doubt? The Last of Us has just won Best Adaptation at The Game Awards 2023. The award was presented by the cast of Amazon’s upcoming Fallout adaptation. I’m imagining that show will be in contention next year.

It’s been a jam-packed night so far, and we still have more awards and announcements to come. In case you missed it, God of Ragnarök is getting a brand new DLC expansion titled Valhalla, plus it’s been revealed that Arkane Lyon is in the early stages of developing Marvel’s Blade. SEGA stopped by to showcase five new games including new installments of Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio. Oh, and Jurassic Park Survival is coming soon too. Yes, that’s what it sounds like. A survival horror set in Jurassic Park, but let’s hope back on over to Best Adaptation.

Take a look at the brand new trailer for Marvel’s Blade below.

The Last of Us took home the accolade, just as we all expected. As a reminder, the fellow nominees were Castlevania: Nocturne, Twisted Metal, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Gran Turismo. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann took to the stage to accept the award, thanking fans for their support. He noted that his collaborator, Craig Mazin, was unable to be there as he was up in Canada preparing for the filming of season two,

It’s known that filming will kick off in February. It was due to start in January, given that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are now concluded, but Pedro Pascal is reportedly busy finishing up Gladiator 2. Given how close we are to filming, it’s odd that no casting announcements have yet been made. Surely set photos will leak sooner rather than later. Fans are desperate to find out who will be playing Abby, plus key characters like Dina and Owen. I just hope Jeffrey Wright returns as Isaac.

It’s been confirmed that the show will debut its second season in 2025.
