The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered free download released, available now

It’s fair to say that without giving away any spoilers, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II is one of the most controversial video games in recent times but it’s also a fantastic title too.

The Last of Us was first released for the PlayStation 3 in 2013 and pushed this system to its limits towards the end of the console's life cycle, before arriving on PlayStation 4 with a remastered version the following year. Then in 2020, Naughty Dog treated us to the highly anticipated sequel which at the time, stirred up quite the controversy, to say the least. However, this year we saw the release of The Last of Us Part II Remastered which not only came with slightly improved visuals and performance, but it also came with a whole host of bonus features including the roguelike mode No Return.

In our review of The Last of Us Part II Remastered, we said: “As a full package, there’s nothing else you could want from The Last of Us Part II Remastered. We all thought Part II was Naughty Dog’s magnum opus but Part II Remastered shows that there’s plenty more gas in the tank.”

That being said, no matter how perfect a game may or may not be, sometimes unforeseen issues can arise and The Last of Us Part II Remastered is no exception, and with that in mind, Naughty Dog has deployed the latest free patch for us to download. That’s unless the update has already been downloaded while in sleep mode, in which case, you’re good to go.

One of the highlights of patch 1.1.2 is that it finally fixes an issue related to some PlayStation 4 trophies not popping when transferring save data over to the PlayStation 5. The update also fixes several reported bugs to ensure that The Last of Us Part II Remastered now runs a little more smoothly.
