Grand Theft Auto VI has already cemented itself as the biggest game release of all time with hype that has been building for the past decade.
Following its delay from fall 2025 to 26 May 2026, there are still a few months to go until we finally get our hands on the highly anticipated Rockstar title.
Then again, it is not much longer to wait considering it has been well over a decade since the latest Grand Theft Auto entry, Grand Theft Auto V, was released.
Nevertheless, the big release is now on the not-too-distant horizon and it is clear that Grand Theft Auto VI could be the best-selling game of all time.

Since the Rockstar title was added to online shops, such as the PlayStation and Xbox Store, earlier this year, Grand Theft Auto VI has still remained in the top five trending games for Sony.
In a screenshot shared by user sirferrell over on r/GTA6, we can see that Grand Theft Auto VI stands alongside the following titles on the ‘Trending’ page on the PlayStation Store: Ghost of Yōtei, EA Sports FC 26, Grand Theft Auto V, Skate (2025), and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
Other than Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 which is set to be released on 14 November, all of the other titles have now been released and yet Grand Theft Auto VI, which is still over seven months away from launch, still remains on the trending page and has not left since it was first added.
This just goes to show how much the Grand Theft Auto VI page has been interacted with, with fans adding it to their wishlists, waiting for the day where they can finally click that ‘install’ button.

Not only that but its popularity will continue to grow as, at the time of writing, Rockstar has still only released two trailers for GTA VI.
With a gameplay trailer expected over the next few months, we can only imagine what will happen next.
“Can’t imagine how much money they’ll make once pre-orders are available,” one user replied over on r/GTA6.
Another fan agreed, adding, “It will crash PSN when it comes out.”

It is currently unclear when Rockstar will open pre-orders but we can only assume that PSN will indeed struggle beneath the weight.
“Rockstar knows this,” a fellow user commented.
“I imagine we won't see any marketing in terms of more trailers. They simply don't need to. I imagine it's just extra work for them. I'd love one, and I honestly think I need one, but they don't need to do it.”
Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 26 May 2026.
