It has been an entire decade since Far Cry 4 was released and for the first time since its launch, players can now dive into the action at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 5.

Released back in 2014 as the fourth main instalment in the Far Cry series, Far Cry 4 is widely regarded as one of the best in the first-person shooter Ubisoft series.

However, with the title originally being released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it is safe to say that it is pretty outdated when it comes to graphics and performance.

Well, that is until now as Far Cry 4 is set to receive an update for the PlayStation 5 which will see it able to run at 60fps.

Until now, Far Cry 4 has been locked to 30fps and despite that definitely being playable, it was by no means ideal, especially by today’s standards.

However, this new update will now make it possible for the game to run even better on the PS5, years after it was made possible for the Xbox Series X.

Since 2021, Far Cry 4 has been running at 60fps on the Xbox Series X but this will mark the first time that it will be possible for PS5 users, allowing them to make use of its fps boost feature.

This is something of a recent trend for Ubisoft as the company has regularly released performance updates for some of its most-beloved titles such as Assassin’s Creed Syndicate which welcomed 60fps support last year.

Not only that but the 60fps added 4K resolution for the PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X so we can assume that this will happen to more of its older titles over the next few years.

The same update has also been awarded to other titles in the Assassin’s Creed series such as Assassin’s Creed Origins, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

If you do not yet own Far Cry 4, then do not worry as it will be heading to the Xbox Game Pass later this week and now you will get to enjoy it more than ever before.
