Stardew Valley: ValleyTalk Adds Endless Dialogue, Feels Like a Whole New Game

Stardew Valley’s 1.7 Update is officially in the works, so hopefully we’ll see that land in 2026.

In the meantime though, if you want to infuse new life into developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone’s cosy titan, you may want to check out the ‘ValleyTalk’ mod.

Developed by NexusMods user dandm1, ‘ValleyTalk’ essentially adds infinite dialogue to Stardew Valley so you can yap all day and yap all night.

The major caveat here is that the mod is, as you might have guessed, powered by AI so you’ll have to decide whether it’s for you.

Personally, I’m against AI for a number of reasons, whether it be related to its energy consumption or the threat it poses to human creative industries.

You might feel differently though, and if you do, this mod may be far more up your street.

“ValleyTalk brings infinite dialogue to Stardew Valley. It allows all villagers to respond naturally to the farmer in conversation with deep knowledge of the world – whether they are accepting an apple during a summer storm, playing with the kids before starting a day on the farm, meeting an unknown new farmer on the beach or any other combination,” the mod’s description reads.

You will be able to “talk to your spouse about options for home schooling your children, discuss your latest finds in the mines, have the villagers remember you are married when you give them a gift, [and] let the villagers refer to each other when talking in a group.”

I love the idea of this mod, although I’d be happier if it was all human-scripted but that’s hardly a viable undertaking for a single modder.

All villagers will respond in character, plus they’ll react to you based on your friendship level with them.

Villager responses will also factor in things like the weather, the season it is, the time of the day, where they’re standing, who else is present, and whether any community events are taking place.

It’s certainly one way of lengthening the Stardew Valley experience, not that I personally have ever run out of things to do.

It’s already gone down rather well with players.
