Stardew Valley has some new free content, and it seems perfect for fruit farmers.

With the various mods, downloads, and free content updates, Stardew Valley has proven to be the game that keeps on giving.

If you last played it at launch, it’s a completely different game now. Developer ConcernedApe has given the game a lot of love over the last decade. And if you’re on PC, all the different mods you can install have also made it worth your while.

One such mod that fruit farmers may especially want to try out is 'Fruit Tree Reforged', a mod which tweaks the way fruit trees behave to make them more worth the investment.

Created by Stardew Valley modder Larvuk, the mod rebalances the number of fruits produced by the trees each day. Instead of gaining just one fruit from a given tree on each day you harvest them, you’ll gain multiple of that same fruit.

It makes complete sense, really. If you were growing cherries in real life, you wouldn’t expect to only be able to get a single cherry when it came time to harvest. This is a change I can get behind.

Meanwhile, the tree fruits themselves have also been rebalanced. As they’re now more numerous, use them to make jelly, wine or dried fruits from your tree fruits and earn money.

It also adds a new Sapling Incubator machine, where similar to the seed maker, a new machine that makes tree fruit seeds is added.

Combine it with potting soil to grow a healthy sapling ready to be planted on your farm. Larvuk states that this is costly and time-consuming, so it’s not something that feels too unbalanced.

Other features included in the mod are the new fruit tree fertiliser which speeds up the growth of trees, as well as compatibility for modded trees such as those added in 'Stardew Valley Expanded' and 'Cornucopia'.

Larvuk has also released other mods for Stardew Valley, including 'Remixed Mine Rewards', as well as 'Mine Treasure Framework'.

Obviously if you’re a Stardew Valley player who doesn’t focus on fruit trees, this mod may not be as necessary for you. However, fruit farmers who feel like the game is rather unbalanced when it comes to the economy of trees will certainly have a great use of this.

You can download 'Fruit Tree Reforged' for Stardew Valley’s PC version via Nexus Mods now.
