Red Dead Redemption 2's single-player just got a ton of new content

Plenty more to do

You can download a ton of new content for Red Dead Redemption 2’s single-player now, for free.

Rockstar Games abandoned its latest Red Dead Redemption game far too early in my opinion, with the Online mode only receiving a few updates compared to the more active GTA V.

Why not take a look at a few funny moments from various Red Dead Redemption 2 playthroughs?

Red Dead Redemption 2 hasn’t even been given a new-gen update yet, but fortunately there’s an army of modders out there dedicated to improving the game, as well as adding new content whenever possible.

The latter is what we’re talking about today, as PC players can download a free mod that adds a variety of animals exclusive to the online mode to the single-player part of the game.

Red Dead Redemption Online has an eco-system of exclusive animals, ranging from wolves and bears to bison, that don’t appear in the single-player.

Why did Rockstar make them exclusive to the online mode? No idea, but they’re back and can be hunted to your heart’s content now.

They were added in by the modder PlayRedThenStayDead who has done several cut-content mods over the last few months

In order to add the animals to your game, you’ll need to download multiple mods, as there’s one for each animal type, but they’re all compatible with each other and should work fine alongside any other mods you have installed.

If you’re looking for any other mode recommendations, there’s a wide variety of graphic upgrades provided your hardware is strong enough, though my personal favourite at the moment is the mod that skips the slow opening chapter of the story mode.

That’s just the start too, as there are loads of awesome mods out there that either improve the game, or add entirely original content.
