Red Dead Redemption 3 may be many years away, if it even happens that is, but in the meantime, fans can dive back into a life of crime with this free expansion.

With Rockstar Games being hard at work on Grand Theft Auto VI, it makes sense that its Red Dead Redemption franchise has taken a back seat over recent years.

Other than the occasional Red Dead Online update, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been left in the dust so to speak and fans are eager to learn if they can look forward to a third instalment.

However, even if Red Dead Redemption 3 was announced, it would still be many years before it was released but luckily, this free download is bound to make the wait a bit easier.

Created by CruelMasterMC over on Nexus Mods, Life Of Crime is a free Red Dead Redemption 2 mod with an emphasis on completing changing gameplay.

This is because it will allow you to design your very own character instead of taking on the role of John or Arthur.

Players will be able to choose between a male or female character and start the game without any weapons or money.

However, weapons can be bought from gunsmiths or by finding them across the map and money can be earned from taking on various missions .

Additionally, players can customise their appearances even more by heading to different wardrobes around town and paying a $20 fee.

“In order to start/continue this mod, go up to the white hat BLIP at Copperhead Landing, near Siska Penitentiary, and then press F on the boardwalk with the given prompt AFTER you created your character at the Saint Denis tailor,” CruelMasterMC explains.

“The mod will first start off by putting you into the character creator where you can design your character the way you want it.”

Last but not least, Life Of Crime offers a skill tree, ranks, a heist, intro and interaction menu so this free, fan-made expansion really does have everything you need for a brand-new Red Dead Redemption 2 playthrough.
