Not to set the cat amongst the pigeons, but PC gamers have a distinct advantage over console players in the coming week.

We’re not here to debate the pros and cons of PC gaming, but rather to point you in the direction of three free games.

Just like with other subscriptions services, like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, there are benefits to an Amazon Prime Gaming subscription. Chiefly during Amazon’s Prime Day events.

On 16 and 17 July, Prime users will be able to relish the thrills of three surprise games.

The games in question are as follows:

  • Chivalry 2 – Join forces with friends and embark on a multiplayer experience of epic proportions. The medieval battlefield is where you’ll test your mettle, and either victory away the victor or die amongst your comrades.
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider – Everyone’s favourite tomb raider is back in this 20 year celebration of the beloved heroine. Lara has many foes to face down before learning the truth about the city of Kitezh.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – it’s received many mixed reviews, but if you love the chaotic and atmospheric world of the Arkham trilogy, you’re sure to enjoy this band of misfits as they try to do the unthinkable.

That’s a fine selection of free games right there. However, given the reason for this surprise drop, there’s a catch: you have a limited amount of time to claim them.

Once these games become available on 16 July, you’ll have a 48-hour window to download them. After that, costs will be incurred if you decide you want to buy these specific titles.

Should what’s on offer not tickle your fancy, Amazon’s gaming options are many in number, and thus there should be available to keep you entertained when you next need a new adventure to embark on.
