PC gaming in 2026 is looking very, very exciting as a wide variety of new products and upgrades will soon be sweeping the market.
The usual, to the weird, to the downright bizarre a lot has been announced at CES 2026 and below you can find the ones that stood out to us as innovations that’ll soon change the PC and general gaming scene.
Kicking off with one of the weirder ones, Razer recently revealed a new all-in-one gaming companion in the form of a holographic AI.
As if that wasn’t strange enough the digital companion can take the form of an anime waifu, in addition to famed League of Legends esports player, Faker. When I first saw this I couldn’t help but think of Joy from Bladerunner 2049.

The hologram can apparently see and hear the user, engaging in real-time conversations and encouraging you to take care of yourself whilst gaming, even hype you up when you get that long-awaited victory royale on Fortnite.

We Can See The Future
ASUS also announced a pair of glasses that aim to replace gaming monitors, which potentially sounds like a huge innovation for the VR industry if it catches on.

With a 240Hz display these glasses can support gameplay and video playback, though as a glasses wearer myself I’m curious to see what measures have been taken to protect the user’s eyes, even when they don’t have a visual impairment.
Return Of The 3D Craze
3D was all the rage back in the day with just about every film sporting some kind of 3D effect, and while it’s not as popular as it once was Samsung presumably intends to bring it back.
The company has produced a new, slim 3D display monitor, which looks like an oversized TV screen that can render any image in near-perfect 3D, no glasses required. I”m interested to see what the gaming industry could do with this kind of technology.
AI Takeover
This one I’m really not keen on. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently spoke about the newly announced Alpamayo, which is claimed to be the world’s first thinking, reasoning autonomous vehicle AI.

Despite what appears to be the general consensus on AI being overly negative, companies are still pushing to make it work, though I’m sure gamers would prefer it if NVIDIA would focus on the current RAM and GPU shortages first.

Mobile Gamers Are Gamers Too
Finally, we have the 8BitDo FlipPad, a new gamepad designed for mobile gamers.
Advert
It’s quite a clever bit of kit, being able to attach itself to the bottom of your phone and then wrap around it, with buttons and control sticks in the same position of say, a Nintendo GameBoy for example.
While there are add-ons out there to support mobile gamers, many of them are bulky controller shells, but the 8BitDo FlipPad is something you’d be able to fit in your pocket along with your mobile device. For those who like to play retro games on their phone this looks ideal.
