Two incredible indie games can be downloaded on the Epic Games store for free, but act fast as today’s the last chance to claim them.

Epic Games is currently offering a charming little platformer and a story-driven card game RPG. Check out the descriptions for Dodo Peak and Black Book down below and see if either of them catches your eye.

Little Nightmares III has finally been announced, check it out below.

First we have Dodo Peak which is ”a throwback to the classic arcade platformers of the past with a modern twist”, reminiscent of Q*Bert. Players are a Dodo bird parent looking for their missing children, and have to scale a mountain, avoiding enemies while they collect their kids and get to the top. You can only jump in one of four directions though, so you need to time things carefully to avoid getting hit or cornered.

Then, we have the charmingly stylish RPG Black Book, which tells a tale themed around Slavic mythology and folklore. Black Book’s description reads: “Fight evil forces in card-based battles and explore the world, where humans live alongside mythological creatures.”

Players will become a young sorceress and build a powerful deck of magic cards, which are then used in card battles with evil monsters. The better your cards, the more success you’ll have in battle, with gameplay that rewards strategising your moves carefully. There are also some puzzles to solve as well, which is how you progress to new areas.

Fans and critics both praised the title for its incredibly gorgeous art style, as well as fun card-based gameplay, giving it regular scores of 9/10. This is a must-play for fans of RPGS and card games, or you just fancy trying something new.

Both games can be claimed right now on the Epic Games store, but you need to act fast if either, or both, titles have your interest, as you’ve only got till the end of today, 24 August, to bag the freebies.
