Since its release on PC in January this year, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is going from strength to strength with millions of players flocking to the web-slinging sequel.

First released in October 2023 for the PlayStation 5, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was the highly anticipated sequel to both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Following both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they encounter iconic villains such as Kraven the Hunter and Venom, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was praised for its improved gameplay and stunning graphics.

So much so that when the once PS5 exclusive was released on PC earlier this year, thousands of brand-new players flocked to play it and its success has already seen Nixxes release a new PC patch this week.

Making numerous changes as well as working on a bunch of bug fixes, Update 1.212.1.0 greatly improves the original PC port which was reported to be quite unstable during launch.

As a result, the update has temporarily removed Anti-Lag 2 in order to improve stability on AMD GPUs and although Nixxes plans to bring back this feature in the future, it has not been revealed when.

There are also improvements to mouse sensitivity, screen space reflections and the ability to use the Nintendo Switch Pro controller with Steam Input.

Nixxes also added various visual and interface-related bug fixes as well as resolving a bug which caused character’s eyes to randomly flicker and darken.

Of course, there are various crash fixes and stability improvements as well as “NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction can now be used at Native resolution and with Ultra Performance upscaling”.

The following issues have also been resolved:

  • Fixed a crash that could occur in the final Mysterio mission while wearing the Bodega Cat Suit.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when closing the menu while an audio fragment is playing.
  • Resolved a New Game+ bug that stopped the prompt to pick up the Sleeping Dart in ‘The Flames Have Been Lit’ from working when using mouse and keyboard.
  • Fixed a bug that caused issues with XeGTAO when disabling Anti-Aliasing or enabling Ray Reconstruction.
  • Resolved a timing related bug that could cause the player to be positioned lower to the ground than intended during the Wind Tunnel tutorial.

As always, Steam will begin this update as soon as you launch the client.
