Fallout: The Odyssey teaser shows us what Unreal Engine 5 can really do

A new locale awaits

Prime Video’s Fallout is wholly deserving of its 16 Emmy nominations.

The dust may now have settled but the series led to a huge resurgence in interest in the acclaimed video game series, as players both new and old hopped in.

Retaining that level of interest has proved to be somewhat of a challenge.

As we’re all well aware, Fallout 5 is on the way but not for many, many years.

Those who loaded up Fallout 4 following the show’s premiere would’ve been greeted by the game’s new-gen update, but that didn’t exactly bring much in the way of new content.

Interest very quickly waned.

Fallout 76 recently saw the addition of the Skyline Valley expansion, so we’re not totally without new content.

Even still, it may be time to turn to mods to help us find something extra to help scratch the Fallout itch.

Fallout: The Odyssey could do just that.

ICYMI: Here’s our guide to starting Fallout, perfect for beginners.

Fallout: The Odyssey is a total conversion mod that’s in the works for Fallout: New Vegas.

Taking us to Alaska in the year 2297, The Odyssey sees the reformed Enclave making plans for what’s termed “the most ambitious event in human history since the great war".

Players assume the role of a lone wanderer who becomes heavily involved in the Enclave’s last stand against the Brotherhood of Steel.

The mod will include a brand new location, storyline, and quests.

The bad news is that it remains in development but we do have a short film to enjoy in the meantime, offering a tease of what’s to come.

There’s no set release date for the project but recruitment has ramped up in recent months, and you can join The Odyssey’s Discord server to stay up to date on the latest goings-on.
