Fallout fans are in for a treat – and we don’t mean simply because the new series is airing soon. However, while this treat is an additional extra, its availability is connected to the Amazon show.

As anyone in the fandom will tell you, there isn’t long to wait until Amazon’s Fallout finally airs. Recent announcements, especially surrounding Fallout 5, haven’t exactly been what was expected. Still, while there’s been plenty of misses of late, there’s also hits to be found – like this freebie you can download and keep. Forever.

Before this “mostly positive” title can be yours, there are a few steps you need to follow. Chiefly, that you need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber. The next “step” to follow is more a guideline, as the game is only available until 24 April. Once you've downloaded it, the game is yours, however, you need to start the download before the date given.

Have you got what it takes to be part of the Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel?

That’s all there is to it. That being said, for those of you playing on PlayStation or Xbox, there’s an additional catch here: you can’t play the game on consoles. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel was released on consoles, however, that option isn’t available as part of this deal.

For those able to reap the benefits of being a subscriber and PC gamer, you have beloved classic to look forward to.

One reviewer had this to say about the game, “It's a solid game and underrated for Fallout games. I am not the biggest fan of the approach of having multiple people to command, it's a very timely process. But if you are willing to give it your time, you can thoughtfully ambush enemies very well.” They added, “It's a nice change of pace from the solo running in the wasteland we are used to.”

By today’s standards, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel is dated. Yet, despite its aged quirks, it’s a title every tactician and Fallout fan should try, even if you don’t stick it out until the very end.

Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel is free via Prime Gaming for a limited time only, so get marching solider!
