Fallout 4: The Final Run Is A Free Quest To Keep You Busy This Weekend

The gift that keeps on giving!

This Fallout 4 mod should help keep you busy as you continue to cause all sorts of mayhem in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Perhaps, more than most, alongside The Elder Scrolls series, Bethesda’s Fallout is one of the most popular RPGs of all time and one of the best supported.

I’m not just talking about support in terms of DLC, which Fallout 4, in particular, has seen plenty of, but also the wealth of content that is brought to life by the ever-vibrant modding community.

“As the sole survivor of Vault 111, you enter a world destroyed by nuclear war. Every second is a fight for survival, and every choice is yours. Only you can rebuild and determine the fate of the Wasteland. Welcome home,” reads the synopsis of Fallout 4.

It doesn't matter whether it's those infamous Bethesda bug fixes, graphical and performance improvements, new quests, gear, NPCs and much more. The modding community has us covered, and games such as Skyrim and Fallout 4 are prime beneficiaries of that.

Originally released in 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Fallout 4 not only benefited from its long-awaited free new-gen update last year, but this year, it’s also getting an anniversary release on not only PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but also the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition will come with Bethesda’s Creation Club currency (as well as official DLC and updates), which can be spent acquiring all sorts of fantastic community-made mods. Mods similar to the likes of one featured in this article.

Community mods are never-ending!

The mod in question is called ‘The Final Run - Buildable Protection Terminals’, created by Gizmo (as well as talented team members), and is available to download now via Nexusmods.

“This mod adds a short and simple voice-acted quest mod, and four buildable Protectron-themed Workshop terminals that you get as a reward for completion,” reads its description.

“To start the quest, head to the Electrical Hobbyist's Club and the quest will start automatically once you get close enough! Discover what unfolded at the Club and grab the magazine for yourself!”

Sadly, as is the nature of most mods, and despite some Bethesda mods being compatible on Xbox, ‘The Final Run - Buildable Protection Terminals’ is a PC exclusive.

Fallout 4 is out now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and is included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription at no extra cost. Fallout 4 will also arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026.
