If you are anything like me and the world of Cyberpunk 2077 made you fall in love with the genre as a whole, then you will want to keep this upcoming open-world survival game on your radar.

Available now in early access, MAINCORE is “an open-world survival game featuring building, raiding, PvP, and PvE elements” and, unlike Cyberpunk 2077, the choice to play in either first or third-person.

Developed by Milan Prekop, MAINCORE is perfect for the majority of us who are currently waiting for Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel and here is why.

Packed with “deep gameplay systems”, this open-world survival entry will see players roam a “massive, persistent” world filled with diverse environments, resources, and hidden dangers.

However, as with many other survival entries, you will be in charge of building your very own base using materials you have gathered.

This will include everything from the standard walls and floors to traps, storage, and even defences if you wish to keep your stronghold safe from enemies and fellow players. Think RUST in a cyberpunk setting.

That is because raiding will be a common part of MAINCORE with players able to break into player-made structures, steal resources and claim territory as their own.

That is why you will need to arm yourself to the teeth with defences.

In PvP combat, you will be able to clash with other players for territory, resources, or just for fun as you embark in high-stake sieges.

However, it is not just other players you will have to worry about as the world of MAINCORE is also home to hostile wildlife, environmental hazards, and AI-controlled enemies that attack on sight.

MAINCORE is Available Now in Early Access

“Craft tools, weapons, and gear to survive hunger, weather, and threats.

Every decision matters in this unforgiving sandbox where cooperation or conflict shapes your story. Early Access: Core systems are live and polished - join the fight today,” the official Steam synopsis reads.

As mentioned, MAINCORE is now available to play in early access as of 1 January.

The developers have revealed that early access should last around 12 months but after its full release, MAINCORE will welcome additional biomes, dynamic events, and richly detailed environments which will offer both deeper exploration and survival challenges.

So if you are on the lookout for Cyberpunk 2077 meets RUST, you will want to check out MAINCORE which is available in early access on PC now.
