Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer mod will finally let us explore Night City with chooms

Gather your friends!

I’m sure I’m not the one to break it to you when I say that Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel remains many years away.

Let’s face it, CD Projekt RED isn’t going to rush the game.

That’s one mistake the studio won’t be repeating.

More crucially though, CD Projekt RED is full steam ahead on the next instalment in The Witcher series.

That itself has only just left pre-production, so we likely won’t see it land for four years or so.

If full development isn’t set to begin on Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, codenamed Project Orion, until after then, you can see why I’m suggesting that you should pace your hype.

In the meantime, there is a live-action adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077 in the works which could potentially land sooner.

I’d also like to draw your attention to a fantastic multiplayer mod that allows you to explore Night City with friends.

LEGO Horizon Adventures launches in just a few days on 14 November. Will you be diving in?

‘CyberMP’ will soon allow PC fans to jump back into Night City with up to 20 players as they partake in races, PvP death matches, and more.

Created by modder s1nger, ‘CyberMP’ essentially seeks to restore content cut by CDPR’s developers which begs the question, will we see multiplayer surface in the game’s potential sequel?

You won’t be able to co-op story missions with this mod, but you can frolic around Night City to your heart’s content.

Unfortunately, the mod isn’t ready just yet - but it’s not far off.

YouTuber JuiceHead previously took part in a beta test, adding that ‘CyberMP’ ran “shockingly well” which is music to our ears.

Creator s1nger is now working on a pre-alpha, ironing out a few creases - including stiff player animations which is an issue some playtesters raised.

The alpha version has, in fact, already received a trailer showing off the new animations, bug fixes, and improved synchronisation.

You can take a look below.

There’s no word yet on how/if you’ll be able to get involved in the alpha test, but you can join the mod’s Discord channel to be kept in the loop.
