Bloodborne's new-gen remaster is finally upon us

Bloodborne's new-gen remaster is finally upon us

Bloodborne fans have done what Sony couldn't

Bloodborne is finally getting that new-gen remaster, as a talented group of modders looked at Sony’s laziness and said, “Fine, we’ll do it ourselves.”

That’s right you can now play Bloodborne on PC, and my god, it’s actually decent after a few updates.

Check out Bloodborne below

Using the shadPS4 emulator, which essentially turns your PC into a PlayStation 4, PC users can play Bloodborne in its entirety without the need for one of Sony’s consoles.

Why do this over just playing it on a PS5? Because even on the latest PlayStation hardware, you’re still restricted to 30fps and long load times, issues that can be fixed now the game is playable on PC.

Now a HD Texture Pack can be downloaded for the emulated game, which makes the dreary, nightmarish streets of Yharnham actually look oddly beautiful.

There are still prowling hunters, demons and other creatures of the night roaming around though so don’t take in the sights for too long.

You can find the texture pack on NexusMods, and installing it is pretty simple, you just need the file itself and drop it into the Bloodborne folder in the emulator, though if you’re still struggling there are plenty of guides online.

At the time of writing, the mod doesn’t affect the entire game, only certain areas, but it’ll likely be updated over time.

For the time being, the following areas have been given a touch-up in the graphics department: Hunter's Dream, Central Yharnam, Cathedral Ward, Upper Cathedral Ward, Old Yharnam, and Hemwick Charnel Lane.

Fortunately, these are some of the most picturesque areas in the game so it should give you a better idea of what a fully remastered Bloodborne could look like.

Everyday we get closer to a new-gen version of FromSoftware’s best title, and hopefully Sony takes the hint soon and gets an official one going for PlayStation 5 and PC.
