In between romancing your travelling companions, causing explosions with fire balls, and choosing any dialogue which will cause the most amount of chaos, Baldur’s Gate 3 can offer some challenging gameplay.
Now thanks to this brand-new mod, things are about to get a whole lot more difficult if you choose to accept the challenge.
Released back in 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 has cemented itself as one of the most beloved video game entries of all time with the Larian Studios RPG going on to meet record-breaking awards success, including the coveted Game of the Year accolade.
Since then, Baldur’s Gate 3 has continued to go from strength to strength thanks to regular updates from Larian Studios, and that is not to mention its replayability options.

Additionally, its modding community has been another supported and applauded area of Baldur’s Gate 3’s success and this brand-new mod over on Nexus Mods is no exception.
Created by Robert Sandiford, Sandi's Waypoint Only Fast Travel is a free-to-download mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 which completely revolutionises how fast travel works in the game.
With this mod installed, fast travel will only be allowed at waypoints as opposed to being able to fast travel from anywhere on the map.
“With this mod enabled you can fast travel between waypoints, from waypoint to camp, and from camp to waypoints,” the mod description reads.
“You cannot fast travel to waypoints or to camp from other locations.”
Additionally, you will no longer be able to flee from combat by teleporting out. Instead, you will have to run far enough away from the enemies in order to exit combat that way.
So how will this change gameplay?
Well, not being able to teleport out whenever you are in trouble will make your combat have much higher stakes.
Not only that but getting lost will now cause major issues as you will not just be able to pick your nearest teleporter and return to where you came from.
It is a simple, yet highly effective gameplay change and one which will make you think a lot more strategically when you are about to engage in combat in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Sandi's Waypoint Only Fast Travel was uploaded to Nexus Mods earlier today and has already garnered over 10 downloads so it is clear to see that players are eager for that challenge.
