OG Harry Potter games need to return on modern consoles, fans agree

There's no escaping how incredible OG Harry Potter games were.

We can’t believe we agree with this, but we too would love to see the classic Harry Potter games. They were difficult, maddening, and above all else, they were immense fun. As wonderful as Hogwarts Legacy is, it’s nothing compared to those OG titles.

Anyone who hasn’t played these games not only needs to return their Harry Potter fan card, but also needs to hunt down clips of the gameplay immediately. It’s true that those games were the bane of our lives, at least when it came to flying lessons, but otherwise it was a joy to be a part of the wizarding world.

“No joke, Prisoner of Azkaban is one of my favourite video games of all time. I played it over and over again. I miss it,” said one gamer as they pined for the golden yesteryears of video gaming. We don’t blame them – there’s a lot of entertainment to find in the old ways, and not just because of PS1's Hagrid (if you know, you know).

“Just replayed Chamber of Secrets on my PS2 for the first time In about 20 years and had a blast,” revealed one gamer, leaving to us feeling jealous that they got to experience that rush again. In truth, we could dig out our old consoles, but it would be far easier if the console gods simply gave us remasters of these OG titles.

As amazing as the OG Harry Potter adventures are, we do love the magic awaiting us in Hogwarts Legacy

No doubt, the delay of the Hogwarts Legacy DLC would feel more bearable if we had these games to return to. Not that having access to them takes away from the disappointment of having to wait for a DLC that PlayStation 5 players have had access to since launch. But we move, more bitter than before, but destined to experience euphoria once we get Hogwarts Legacy ‘Haunted Hogsmeade’.

Do you think the original Harry Potter games will get to have their day in the sun again, or are we all hoping for something that will never happen? We choose to live in hope, however foolish that may be.
