Ladies and gentlemen, a new Hyrule Warriors game is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, and it looks gorgeous.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is being shown off in all of its glory right now, with a prequel to The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom being the latest project to be unveiled.

See Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment below.

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment isn’t just a sequel to the second Hyrule Warriors game, it’s also a prequel to The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom as it’s set in the past where Zelda is trapped at the beginning of the game.

It’ll follow Zelda taking part in the war that imprisoned Ganondorf and thwarting his evil plan to conquer the land.

With traditional hack-and-slash gameplay, it looks like it’ll be a great time, with plenty of flashy combat moves and magic to throw around.

If you're unfamiliar with the Hyrule Warriors series, it's a joint-effort between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo, and is modelled after the Dynasty Warriors games which pit players against insurmountable odds.

The last two titles were incredibly fun so it's no wonder that a third game was greenlit, especially one that adds even more lore to Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

It's also the second game to boast Zelda herself as the main protagonist, the first being The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom, so that's great to see too.

The only downside is this title is one of the few to not be launching the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2, which launches on 5 June.

While an exact date hasn't been provided as of yet, Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment is said to be launching sometime in Winter of this year; we'll just have to be patient and wait for it.
