If you’ve read the title and believe you know what this free download is, think again.

Instead of being an underwhelming item, this Pokémon Scarlet & Violet freebie is one you won’t want to miss out on.

Unfortunately for us, we’ll likely have to wait quite a few months, maybe even longer, before we can claim it.

Starting later this month, three Mythical Pokémon will be available for Japan-based trainers.

Speaking of Pokémon, have you played Pokémon TCG Pocket?

The Pokémon in question are Deoxys, Keldeo, and Zarude.

Struggling to catch a Mythical ‘mon isn’t new to those of us who’ve been playing since Gen IV.

Unlike Legendary Pokémon, which can also be a pain to catch, Mythical ones tend to be associated with live events.

Typically, these events take place in Japan well before they make their way elsewhere.

Although we have to sit back and watch other trainers get the goods well in advance, at least we know that at some point down the line they’ll become available to us, too.

It’s just a matter of time.

You might not be fussed about Mythical Pokémon because of how tedious it can be to obtain them. However, if you intend to complete your Pokédex, you’re going to need to catch them. Sorry, we don’t make the rules.

“I need two of them for the National Pokédex,” posted @RosenbergEllie in response to the announcement, further emphasising our point.

Not everyone is so polite about this official unveiling.

“Exclusive region distributions in 2024 is stupid asf whether it comes later or not is beside the point. They could easily distribute them everywhere else too,” argued @JoZaChei.

It’s not easy being the very best, unfortunately.

Everyone is keeping their fingers crossed that we’ll get an announcement about this Mythical event coming to a region near you very soon.

We’ve easily beaten Ash when it comes to filling the Pokédex, now that fans have worked out just how many Pokémon he's caught.

But just because we’re better than him, doesn’t mean it’s time to be lazy.

Being able to add three Mythical 'mon to our collection is the win we need right now.
