Pokémon's first Nintendo Switch 2 games accidentally confirmed early

We can’t wait to catch 'em all!

It seems that the first Pokémon games for the Nintendo Switch 2 have been confirmed early by accident.

The Pokémon franchise is massive, not only in the world of video games but also in tabletop card games, anime, merchandise and more. Since Pokémon made its debut on the Nintendo Game Boy in 1996 with Red, Blue and Yellow, it’s showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, even after all these years.

Check out the Pokémon Legends: Z-A trailer below!

Earlier this year, Nintendo announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A. While no gameplay was revealed, it was enough to excite loyal fans of the series.

It’s a safe assumption to make that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released on the current Nintendo Switch console. However, at the very end of its reveal trailer, it said “releasing simultaneously worldwide in 2025”.

Those words sparked rumours that Pokémon Legends: Z-A might also release on the Nintendo Switch successor, otherwise, why would it say what it did? It makes us assume that the game will be released on at least two platforms.

Not much else is known about Pokémon Legends: Z-A right now other than it will take place in Lumiose City of the Kalos Region, inspired by Paris, France.

Yet, as reported by Screen Rant (via Reddit), the future Pokémon games after Legends: Z-A may have been accidentally confirmed courtesy of an apparent leak for the mobile app, Pokémon HOME.

Available on Android and iOS devices, Pokémon HOME is an app that allows you to store your captured Pokémon in a cloud. It also provides information on the various creature types such as abilities, origin and so forth.

An image of text that originated from Famiboards shared by Reddit user, TheIndigoBoy1213 suggests that the new version of Pokémon HOME that will be used on the Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a trainer named Bianca who first appeared in 2010’s Pokémon Black and White.

Pokémon Black and White are set in the Unova region and this apparent leak has led some to believe that both of the 2010 games could get modern remakes on the Nintendo Switch or perhaps more likely, its successor.

Of course, we should take unconfirmed speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise but it’s an exciting prospect nonetheless that we might get remakes of Pokémon Black and White, perhaps in 2026 which just so happens to be the 30th anniversary of the franchise.

As always, we’ll keep you posted if we hear of any further developments.
