The Japanese Pokémon social media account has posted a mysterious image ahead of the next Pokémon Presents, and it has fans losing their minds.

The image shows the beloved Pikachu, head titled perhaps in confusion, looking at stark black and white DJ decks sat beneath a large TV with no picture.

It’s such a vague image that it could mean literally anything, and that’s the problem, Pokémon fans just can’t make out what is being teased.

Is it a new rhythm game? Perhaps a music service? Or, dare we say it, a Pokémon Black and White remake?

Once the image made its way to Reddit, fans began speculating and getting excited for more.

The top comment under the news is the slightly tongue-in-cheek suggestion, “Hey You, Pikachu! 2,” alluding to a sequel of the N64 classic.

In that game you spoke directly to Pikachu, like a virtual pet, but it’s regarded as one of the worst N64 games of all-time.

“With the mic built into the Switch 2....you might be cooking here,” notes RegrettableDeed.

Many believe we’re getting excited over nothing, and it’ll end up being Pokémon music being added to the Nintendo Music app.

Though this is doubted by one user, who said, “Pokémon music is already on the Nintendo music app, so I doubt it would get a whole announcement.”

“Could be a rhythm game of some sort,” said TarTarkus1.

Then there’s those users who are simply tormenting themselves with comments like, “Classic games coming to Switch Online + Pokémon Home support would be humanity's greatest breakthrough since the moon landing.”

Perhaps my favourite reply, and hilarious guess, is “10th Gen Pokémon… Pokémon Drum and Bass,” from rainmaker_superb.

We’ll have to wait and see what will be revealed, but I’m on board with this guess from another Redditor who comments, “You've heard of Detective Pikachu, now meet his cousin: DJ PIKACHU!”
