Pokémon Just Revealed Another Horrifying New Evolution

Another one joins the fray

In another strange live-action trailer, Pokémon has just revealed yet another major evolution ahead of the launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A and it is truly horrifying.

With new mega evolutions arriving to Pokémon Legends: Z-A which allow our favourite Pokémon to temporarily take on transformations which can increase their power, change their appearance and even alter their type, we already know of some which will be featured.

Pokémon such as Hawlucha, Dragonite and Victreebel will be receiving mega evolutions with their brand-new designs already revealed over the past few months.

This will be the first time we have seen the mega evolutions of these Pokémon in particular, but characters such as Charizard, Ampharos, Sableye, Lucario and many more will also be making a return in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

However, it seems as though another mega evolution will also be added to the next Pokémon game and this time it concerns none other than Malamar.

Revealed on the Official Pokémon youtube channel in the shape of a bizarre live-action trailer, we can see “My friend Malamar” take on their brand-new form.

The official description for Malamar’s evolution reads as follows:

“The Mega Evolution of the Overturning Pokémon will make its debut in Pokémon Legends: Z-A!

Psychic power overflows from Mega Malamar’s body, emitting a bright glow. This vividly colored light further amplifies the Pokémon’s hypnotic abilities, allowing it to freely overwrite the personalities or even memories of others—a terrifying power that can make someone seem like an entirely different person.”

Sporting a huge bouffant of hair, a long cape-like ensemble and scorpion tail-like arms, Malamar definitely looks a lot different than normal and will definitely make a splash on the battlefield.

In a newly-released gameplay trailer, we see an evolved Malamar use its psychic powers against Charizard and easily take them down before using their hypnotic abilities to slowly take over the entire team.

“Who needs a diverse team when you could have 6 Malamar?” One fan asked and I can’t help but agree.

“That’s straight up a Mind Flayer [from Baldur’s Gate 3],” another added.

With the majority of fans seemingly appreciating this new mega evolution, it will not be long before they can add it to their team in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on 16 October.
