Nintendo Switch users have one week to grab these free downloads before they’re gone for good.

Many gamers are currently keeping their eyes peeled for what news PlayStation is about to drop in its upcoming showcase.

Given how poorly kept a secret it is, gamers believe it’s the PS5 Pro, seeing how it’s been confirmed in an announcement that’s currently being roasted by fans.

Yet there are other arrivals happening within the industry that, although not as thrilling as a new console, may still be of interest to you.

Nintendo has dropped a selection of free Swich downloads for you to peruse; unfortunately, they’re on a tight deadline.

Come 16 September, these freebies will be gone.

Joining the five Legend of Zelda downloads that recently appeared, Nintendo now has dozens of Super Mario themed icons available.

Beloved characters dressed in new outfits, cutesy backgrounds, and minimalist borders only begin to scratch the surface of the diversity on offer.

Although these Switch icons are a limited time only deal, that isn’t to say they won’t come back in the future – Nintendo has done it before and will undoubtedly do it again.

That being said, we don’t know when or even if that’ll happen.

Consequently, if you see something you like, it’s best to grab it while you can.

You can also start praying for other IPs to return, like one Twitter user who is keeping everything crossed that the Fire Emblem icons will one day experience a revival.

For those of you who want something to do other than download new profile images, you can check out our review for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.

GAMINGbible’s Richard Lee Breslin describes it as a “retro delight”.

If your Switch profile is starting to look tired, the aforementioned free downloads are a quick and easy way to give your account a glow up.

Just remember, you have a week to go before they’re going, going, gone!
