Pokémon fans have been treated to a fantastic freebie that you can check out right now.

At the very end of October 2024, Nintendo fans were surprised with the unexpected free app Nintendo Music for compatible iOS and Android mobile devices.

At least, this app is free to all those who subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online.

Check out the Nintendo Music app trailer below!

While the app is currently quite limited, at the time of writing, in terms of its music selection, new tracks and albums are steadily being added. The current line-up includes soundtracks to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Donkey Kong Country and many more.

Nintendo Music even features curated playlists to suit your current mood. In a nutshell, it’s basically Spotify but Nintendo.

However, Pokémon fans have been patiently waiting for this beloved series to arrive on the Nintendo Music app and we can happily report that time has finally arrived.

Granted, it’s only for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet at this time, but it should be the start of even more tracks from the ever-popular franchise including, hopefully, all the retro delights of yesteryear.

In our review of Pokémon Scarlet, we said it has “finally delivered on the promise of an open-world entry, but with all the technical issues and stripped-back features, it’s hard to not feel like the Nintendo Switch held these games back”.

To access the soundtracks to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will need to download the latest small update for Nintendo Music but once that’s done, you’ll be able to listen to the wondrous sounds of the Paldea region till your heart's content.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are out now on the Nintendo Switch. The next entry to arrive in the series is Pokémon Legends: Z-A scheduled to be released sometime in 2025.

Nintendo, can we add the beautiful sounds of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker next, please? Thank you.
