Nintendo Switch releases tons of free downloads you've until 29 July to claim

A selection of Super Mario themed goodies are now available on Nintendo Switch, and you’ve got until the end of the month to collect them all.

The Nintendo Switch is still missing a lot of content in terms of player expression, like the Miis from the Nintendo Wii and Wii U, background themes, UI colours and much more.

But we do have another Mario & Luigi game coming, so I guess beggars can’t be choosers?

However what we do have is a number of icons to claim to make our online profiles stand out.

These are basically freebies, as to claim them you spend platinum points which can be earnt through completing online surveys, doing weekly challenges on your Nintendo Switch, or playing certain Nintendo Switch Online games, easy-peasy.

This month there are various icons available from the Super Mario series, though if you want to collect them all you’ve got until 29 July to acquire and spend the right amount of points.

They’re about 10 platinum points a pop which isn’t much but it does add up over time, and it’s always good to save some back to spend on the Nintendo store.

As for what games the Mario icons cover, we’ve got Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Bros Wonder and Super Mario Bros 3D + Bowser’s Fury, a great selection.

The icons cover some of your favourite Super Mario characters as well as side characters, power-ups, and some cool backgrounds/frames to put them over for your profile, though keep in mind you can’t mix and match for some reason, a Mario Kart frame with only work with a Mario kart character icon.

You’ve got until 29 July to either grab them all or grab the ones you want, and then they’ll be swapped for a fresh batch from whatever game or games Nintendo fancies.
