Nintendo Switch Online is easily one of the cheapest major gaming subscription services out there.

One year will set you back just £17.99, or you can pay £3.49 for one month or £6.99 for three.

A seven day free trial is also available.

Of course, there’s also the slightly pricier Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion option which costs £34.99 for one year.

When you consider that 12 months of Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus will likely set you back a triple figure sum, it’s not bad value for money.

Nintendo Switch Online won’t permit you access to new titles but it does allow you to revisit a vast array of retro favourites, and I’m certainly not one to turn down a warm and fuzzy trip down memory lane.

Nostalgia is a beautiful thing.

The yearning for such a feeling may have led you to recently check out Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition.

If you did and you’re a member of Nintendo Switch Online, you can now bag several bonus rewards.

ICYMI: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches later this year. Take a look at the game in action below.

To celebrate the launch of Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, a series of icons are now available to grab for 10 Platinum Points on My Nintendo Rewards.

This is simply the first wave of icons, with there being a weekly changeout from now until 14 August.

The first wave is well worth checking out though before it’s gone, with Mario, Kirby, and Donkey Kong all making appearances.

Wave 2 will unlock on 31 July, ending on 7 August, with Wave 3 rounding us out from 7 to 14 August.

Don’t forget that Platinum Points are very easy to earn. You can check out your My Nintendo account for an array of easy-to-complete missions which should reward you with points.
