Another month, another wave of Nintendo freebies, but you’re going to want to claim them on your Nintendo Switch as soon as humanly possible - because once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.

As announced on the official Nintendo Twitter account, several new freebies are about to hit the Nintendo Switch eShop, and the first wave of them are available right now.

Check out this gorgeous trailer for The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom below!

Be quick however as this first wave ends on the 20th of August, which means you’ve only got four days left to claim them if you haven’t already.

The free items in question are all NSO icons, themed around Nintendo’s hit third-person team shooter Splatoon 3.

There are five waves of freebies in question, the first of which runs from the 13th of August to the 20th.

The second will be available from the 20th to the 27th, the third from the 27th and then into the 3rd of September.

The fourth wave will be available from the 3rd of September until the 10th, and then the final fifth wave will be available from the 10th to the 17th - after which, assumedly, a new wave of NSO icons will be announced.

Just as with every other NSO icon that’s been available in the past, these will be permanently unavailable after the dates they leave the Nintendo eShop.

If there are any you’re particularly interested in, make sure you use your My Nintendo Platinum Points to claim them immediately; as you’ll most likely never have a chance to do so again.

One Reddit user collated exactly how many NSO Icons have been created for each different Nintendo property, and (at the time of that thread dropping) Splatoon 3 had over 360 icons in its library.

That thread hasn’t been updated for a while however, so who knows how many unique Splatoon 3 icons have been dropped at this point. People must be pretty keen to claim them if Nintendo keep dropping them this frequently.
