Nintendo Switch to welcome comeback of two Nintendo 3DS gems

Time to get cosy

Two cosy games from the Nintendo 3DS era are going to launch on the Switch later this year.

Cosy gaming has skyrocketed in the last few years. For some gamers, there’s something quite comfortable about running a café or doing some honest farmwork in a video game.

This isn’t just a new trend though, there have been plenty of cosy games going way back to the 90s.

Emphasising the lack of violence and relaxing themes, games like Animal Crossing and The Sims are early examples of the cosy genre.

The Sims is the perfect example of the cosy genre.

Over on X (formerly Twitter), Harvest Moon publisher Natsume Inc. revealed it would be bringing Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and Harvest Moon: Skytree Village to the Nintendo Switch.

Both titles will be available as one bundle in a complete collection, releasing both digitally and physically.

In addition to both games, the collection also includes all DLC and is available on one cartridge if buying the physical edition. Not a bad deal for collectors or anyone who prefers buying their games physically.

In the Harvest Moon series, players are tasked with running a farm and helping the local townsfolk. The games usually come with the typical bells and whistles you expect from a life sim, including being able to get married, have children, and perform jobs.

Both titles were previously exclusive to the 3DS, with The Lost Valley releasing in 2014 and Skytree Village later in 2016.

Harvest Moon isn’t to be confused with the Story of Seasons games, which used to be released under the Harvest Moon moniker until 2014. When Marvelous decided to change distributors over to XSEED, the franchise had to be rebranded due to Natsume still owning the rights to the Harvest Moon name.

Since then, players have felt the series hasn’t hit the highs of the earlier games in the series. With Marvelous continuing to release Story of Seasons on modern platforms, fans of the cosy genre are eating quite well at the moment.

Natsume hasn’t set a release date in stone yet, but Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and Harvest Moon: Skytree Village will launch on Nintendo Switch in Summer 2025.
