If you want to claim some free Super Mario goodness for your Nintendo Switch then you better act fast because you’ve got less than 48 hours.

That being said, before you sprint off like Jack Bauer with the sound of a countdown clock in your head, let’s find out what Nintendo Switch freebies you can claim before the timer runs out.

Check out the Super Mario Bros. Wonder trailer below!

When it comes to iconic video game mascots, probably none are more recognisable than the somewhat offensively stereotypical Italian plumber, otherwise known as Super Mario who made his debut in the classic arcade game from 1981, Donkey Kong.

Nintendo has two reward currencies, gold coins which are acquired by purchasing new physical games and can be redeemed as a discount on the eShop and platinum coins which can be acquired by completing activities such as questionnaires and can be redeemed against loads of freebies.

The platinum coins should not be overlooked because if you visit My Nintendo Rewards, you can claim physical items such as exclusive pins, notebooks, playing cards, stickers and much more. You can also claim digital freebies if you can't be bothered waiting for something to be delivered.

Some of those digital items include HD wallpapers for your PC or mobile device as well as snazzy icons to proudly display on your Nintendo Switch profile to let your friends know who you’re representing.

As brought to our attention by the Twitter account NSO Icons Alerts, you can claim free Super Mario icons starting from as little as 5 platinum coins each with the most expensive being just 10 platinum coins.

All you have to do to claim the free Super Mario icons is visit the Nintendo Switch Online section via the console dashboard and then visit the ‘Missions & Rewards’ section. From here, you will be able to select from a variety of new Super Mario icons.

The free Super Mario icons are only available until 29 July 2024.
