Nintendo Switch users warned they've under 24 hours to grab free downloads

Better be quick!

If you like to personalise your Nintendo Switch profile, you likely change up your little icon quite often and swap out characters whenever you feel the urge.

One of the big features of Nintendo Switch Online is the ability to download new icons, backgrounds and frames to customise your profile however you like.

Donkey Kong is back on Nintendo Switch this month.

If you’re a Mario fan, particularly a fan of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, then you’ll need to be quick in grabbing these icons before they disappear.

You can see what’s on offer via a handy tweet, and you’ll notice it’s a great selection of characters from the game.

Of course, there’s Mario and Bowser, but also Yoshi and plenty of other side characters who appear throughout the title.

With several great backgrounds and frames also available, you can create a great profile image with any combination of these.

But, you don’t have long to claim them. Just 24 hours are left before these disappear into the Nintendo vault, and we have no idea when they’ll reappear.

To claim any of these, you’ll need platinum points, which are earned by completing challenges and campaigns through the Nintendo website.

It’s worth noting that these are only available to subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online, which also opens up a huge selection of classic games to play.

Once you’ve claimed what you want, you can head into the profile customisation section of your Nintendo Switch console and play around with images and backgrounds.

It’s a lovely way to showcase your favourite games or characters while making your profile feel more your own.

These offerings change out pretty often, particularly when new games come out.

With Donkey Kong Country Returns HD next on the docket for Nintendo, you’re likely to see plenty of Kong and his friends in the next batch of icons.
