The official system specs for the Nintendo Switch 2 have been seemingly confirmed, and fans are excited.

It’s a contest between Nintendo and Rockstar for who is having the biggest release of the year. Between the Switch 2 and GTA 6, it’s a good time for gaming.

With the Switch 2 having a proper reveal in the Nintendo Direct next month, speculation about the system is still up in the air.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be one of the biggest releases of the year.

However, thanks to a recent filing by the FCC, we now have had a proper look at the upgrades the console brings.

With the Switch 2 allegedly having faster Wi-Fi speeds, improved battery life, and more power when docked, fans are over the moon with excitement.

“I’m gonna buy it you don’t have to convince me further,” wrote one user on Reddit.

One user was excited by the idea of the more powerful hardware giving a framerate boost, writing: “I’m just excited for games to run better, like Echoes of Wisdom, the framerate really takes me out of an amazing game. And Animal Crossing New Horizons. Just better performance alone sold me.”

Other comments had concerns about some of the hardware Nintendo is supposedly using in the Switch 2.

“Everything looks good to me but Wi-Fi 6?” wrote one. “You’d think they’d just go for the latest Wi-Fi 7. But I guess Wi-Fi 6 to try to keep the price down.”

A user underneath replied: “This is the company that had a 4K60 compatible chip in their console but disabled the functionality. The Switch 1 chip is literally 4K60 output compatible. Nintendo just cheaped out on the dock HDMI port and conversion hardware.”

It’s pretty clear from this that Nintendo wants to keep the cost of the Switch 2 down. The cheaper the console can be, the more it can make from game sales.

The original Switch console launched with a RRP of £279.99 in 2017. Adjusted for inflation, that’s around £360 today. So we could be seeing a price range somewhere around that.

Of course, this is all speculation, and we won’t know the exact pricing of the Switch 2 until Nintendo announces it.

A Nintendo Direct is scheduled to air on 2nd April. The Direct should reveal more games in development for the console, as well as potential release date and pricing announcements.
