Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer seemingly appears online before vanishing

Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer seemingly appears online before vanishing

Another false alarm or a real glimpse at what's to come?

We’re all eagerly anticipating the reveal of the Nintendo Switch’s successor, colloquially called the Nintendo Switch 2 although the console is yet to get an official title.

What we do know is that it’s set to be announced this financial year, which means a reveal will take place before we reach April of 2025.

As the number of months between now and then lessens though, so too are the rumours ramping up.

Just a few days ago, images leaked online of the supposed console, revealing what looked exactly like a slightly enlarged Nintendo Switch.

It’s since been decided, as many of us expected, that those images are most likely fabricated.

With that, I thought the dust might settle, at least for a few days yet here we are with another supposed fresh leak.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches on the Nintendo Switch this month.

It all began when Twitter user mushbert_x tweeted that a reveal trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 would be released on 10 October 2024, at 10.30 although the user didn’t specify whether that’s AM or PM or which timezone it applied to.

A short while later, they followed up with a second tweet that read, “Ninjas strike quick,” accompanied by a YouTube link, before a third and final one read, “Ninjas don’t like links, enjoy the ride.”

All tweets have since been deleted although whether that’s by the poster or due to a Nintendo takedown notice, we don’t know.

That leaves us to ponder, was this another false alarm or is mushbert_x onto something?

I’m inclined to believe the former.

As much as I’d like the Nintendo Switch 2’s reveal to be just one month away, there’s no evidence to verify mushburt_x’s claim so logically, we have to assume it’s not true.

If you do choose to get your hopes up, I’d advise that you do so with a very generous pinch of salt.

The fact that the YouTube video was removed by the uploader and not by the copyright holder adds to my consensus that this might be a false alarm.

The truth of the matter is though, we’ll never really know until that reveal lands.

Who knows? Perhaps on 10 October we’ll be returning to mushburt_x with apologies for our lack of belief but for now, this one’s left me dubious despite the traction it’s all gained online.
