A price leak for the recently announced Nintendo Switch 2 is already causing some confusion.

Following what felt like endless months of Switch 2 rumours, last week Nintendo finally revealed the successor to its popular hybrid console and the news sent gamers into a frenzy across social media.

Check out the Nintendo Switch 2 trailer below!

Not much is known about the Nintendo Switch 2 at this time, other than it will be a direct successor to the 2017 console that promises a larger screen, improved Joy-Cons and kickstand as well as a second USB-C port. It’s also safe to assume that it will provide better graphics and performance.

However, we don’t know its system specs, price or confirmed release date. We do know that it will be backwards compatible for some Nintendo Switch games and it will see the release of Mario Kart 9.

That being said, as reported by Comicbook.com, we may know its launch price but there seems to be some confusion on how much the new Nintendo console will cost.

On the US retailer Best Buy, it’s suggested that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be around the same price as the OLED Nintendo Switch estimated at $350 (it sells for about £300 in the UK).

Yet, according to Dutch retailer Coolblue, the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost around $500 (about £410 in the UK) and other reports claim that it could cost between $450 to $500 bundled with Mario Kart 9.

Of course, it’s worth keeping in mind that Nintendo has not officially confirmed how much the Switch 2 will cost or exactly when it will be released. At this point, retailers are merely using placeholder prices and dates.

We should learn how much the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost and when it will be released during a Direct event on 2 April 2025. Regardless of when it might arrive, it’s probably safe to start saving your money now.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted when all the official details regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 arrive in the coming months.
