Star Wars Day is almost upon us as April runs down its last day, and May begins. To celebrate, many companies will hitch their wagon to the sci-fi franchise to pull in consumers.

“May the fourth be with you” has become a saying which pays homage to the Star Wars franchise, and while Epic Games is giving away a free game, Nintendo is also getting in on the action.

Play Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles on Nintendo Switch.

If you’re a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, you will be able to download and try two epic Star Wars titles to celebrate 4 May in style at no extra cost.

Both are retro throwbacks given a new lease of life.

In the first, players will be able to don the helmet and live out the life of Boba Fett in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.

This is a remastered version of the retro classic, brought up to modern sensibilities, with some improved controls.

The second game offering a trial is Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles, which lets players wield lightsabers and act out their Jedi dreams.

Based on the first film of the prequel trilogy, all your favourite characters are a part of this brawling fighter.

Both of these trials are available for a limited time, and will give you a chance to experience the games before thinking of buying them.

Star Wars has a long history within the realm of video games, with multiple titles available that allow for Jedi battles, piloting starships, or smuggling.

It’s a captivating world to exist within, and each of these games will give you a glimpse into the vast galaxy.

You can get your hands on each of these game trials from today, and the demos will be removed on 6 May, not long after Star Wars day.

So, celebrate the franchise is style with these opportunities from Nintendo.
