Yet another first-party Nintendo game has made its Nintendo Switch 2 debut but fans are shocked to see the price that comes along with it.

First released back in October 2024, Super Mario Party Jamboree was the 13th home console instalment in the Mario Party series and is widely regarded as the best entry to date.

So much so that our very own Sam Cawley awarded the game an impressive 9/10 with his review reading as follows:

“Super Mario Party Jamboree is an excellent party game for the Nintendo Switch, fit for any number of players even when you’re by yourself.

The new modes, boards, minigames and mechanics all work together beautifully, with the cherry on top being you can play the majority of them online as well as locally.

While it can often feel like you’re being dealt a bad hand with minigames or NPC helpers, one could argue that’s part of the chaos Mario Party games are best-known for, so I’ll leave it up to you to decide for yourself if it’s your vibe.”

Now Super Mario Party Jamboree has made its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 and arrives alongside new modes and minigames on 24 July.

However, the excitement soon came to an end when fans noticed the price on the official Nintendo website.

Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV will cost £66.99 for its physical edition.

In recent months, companies such as Microsoft and in this case, Nintendo, have increased the prices of its software but seeing it in action is still a shock to the system, especially as Nintendo games rarely receive discounts.

With titles such as Grand Theft Auto VI expected to be the most expensive of all time, it seems as though Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive will first have to compete with Nintendo itself.

Not only that but Super Mario Party Jamboree is not even a brand-new release so we can only imagine how much upcoming titles will cost.

Well, I guess it is worth always keeping some money behind if you are a Nintendo Switch 2 user.
