Nintendo Switch users have more freebies to claim

Nintendo Switch users should skidaddle on over to the eShop and treat themselves to some freebies

Nintendo unfortunately isn’t as generous as Xbox, PlayStation and various PC platforms like Steam can be in regards to free games, DLC, and other types of goodies, but occasionally it offers something decent.

A new Zelda adventure awaits when The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches on Nintendo Switch this year, check out the trailer below

If you’re a fan of digital collectables or things to make your online profile stand-out from the crowd you’ll want to check out the Nintendo Switch Online app on your consoles.

They’re currently offering some lovely, summer-themed, icons from the Nintendo Switch Sports game.

It might not be comparable to the undisputed king of sports titles, Wii Sports, but Nintendo Switch Sports it's a decent successor that’s still being updated with new, free content.

The new icons are also technically free as they’re bought through Nintendo Platinum points, which you regularly earn in the background for playing certain games, playing online and completing other challenges.

Each icon costs 10 coins a pop and resembles a variety of Mii-like characters from the game, all of whom are taking part in a variety of different sporting activities like golf, basketball or golfing. Perfect timing too since the 2024 Paris Olympic Games are currently underway.

Whether you want to just collect your favourites or collect them all, these shiny little freebies will be available for quite a while, so no pressure.

If you’re after something a little more substantial from the Nintendo eShop I’ve got you covered there too.

There’s a wide variety of demos currently available on the platform, some of which are from third-party games but many are from Nintendo itself, a well-worth your time too because Nintendo games are expensive and it’s good to try before you buy.

In short, go to the Nintendo eShop, there’s some decent freebies in there if you know where to look.
