Nintendo just dropped a whole-ass free game for you to download and keep

Who wants a freebie for Nintendo Switch? If so, then this might be the story for you especially if you’re a fan of football.

The FIFA series from Electronic Arts has been one of the most popular franchises in the video game industry since the release of FIFA International Soccer in 1993 and since that time, we’ve had a new football game from the series every year. In fact, there were sometimes two games if there was an international World Cup or European Championship tournament.

Check out the EA Sports FC 24 trailer below!

However, that all changed last year when Electronic Arts parted ways from the FIFA branding to form its own series starting with EA Sports FC 24. In all honesty, it’s basically the same game as FIFA 23 but with slightly improved graphics, gameplay and rosters. At the time of writing, a new developer that’s acquired the FIFA branding hasn't been announced, but recent rumours have suggested that FIFA 25 will be released this year.

Over the years, the Nintendo Switch version of the FIFA series has come under heavy scrutiny for literally being the exact same game as its predecessor (and that’s saying something for this series) other than its name and roster. For years, there have been no gameplay improvements or new features with FIFA on Nintendo’s hybrid console. That being said, from what I hear, EA Sports FC 24 is now a worthwhile entry on the system and you can play it for free.

As of right now, you can download the full EA Sports FC 24 game to your Nintendo Switch console to see if it really is a better game than FIFA 23. It’s only available for a limited time and only for members of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. EA Sports FC 24 will be free-to-play on the Nintendo Switch until 26 February 2024. So if you want to try out the latest football video game, now is the perfect opportunity.
