First revealed back in 2025 to celebrate Mario’s 40th-anniversary, the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is on the way but its accompanying price tag has left fans outraged.
Following the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, many of the Nintendo Switch’s hit games received a port for the new-and-improved handheld and Super Mario Bros. Wonder is no exception.
However, until some Switch 2 ports, Super Mario Bros. Wonder will receive much more than just increased performance and improved graphics.
Instead, it will come alongside several brand-new features including new characters, more multiplayer options, quality of life improvements and even some dedicated amiibos.

Additionally, Meetup in Bellabel Park will be the home of multiplayer multiplayer games which are perfect for all the family.
More specifically, Bellabel Park will be home to two plazas: one dedicated to local multiplayer whilst the other will act as a game room.
In the Local Multiplayer Plaza, players will be able to engage in four-player multiplayer with up to 17 attractions to choose from.
Most excitingly, Meetup in Bellabel Park supports GameShare, meaning that only one out of the four players will need to own the game.
As for the Game Room Plaza, it supports both wireless and online play with six out of the 17 attractions being compatible.
Despite featuring multiple brand-new features and even offering GameShare for some of these new attractions, there is one major concern.
Its price.

Where Is Our Free Upgrade, Nintendo?
The Mario Wonder Upgrade will cost $19.99/£16.99 and launches on 26 March 2026.
Regardless of which version you own, the Upgrade Pack is indeed $19.99/£16.99 and as you can imagine, Nintendo fans are not happy with the Nintendo Switch 2 port not being a free upgrade.
“I ain't spending $20 for multiplayer DLC. Come on, man.
This should be free with online,” one user shared over on Twitter.
Another agreed but did look on the bright side.
“I was hoping it was like 5 bucks.
“It does look like a decent chunk of content, though.”
However, it was user Kereke that summed it up perfectly.
“This makes me want to sell my Switch 2 just like I did with the Switch, Switch Lite and then Switch OLED and as much as I love Nintendo but they're business practices are something that should be talked about.
“It's more expensive to be on Nintendo than PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.”
