Put the date of 5 June in your diary, as we’re going back to Night City, this time on the Nintendo Switch 2.

That’s right, yesterday it was revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition will be a launch title for Nintendo’s newest console, bringing new chooms to the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Switch 2 on the console's launch day.

If you’ve been a Nintendo fan, and enviously looked on as other platforms got Cyberpunk 2077 in all its glory, then you’re in luck.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has the power to run the legendary game from CD Projekt RED, and fans are thrilled about it.

When the news broke on Twitter, fans began to lose their minds, excited at the prospect of exploring Night City in handheld.

“There's always room for more in Night City!!!!!!” exclaimed one Twitter user, who kept their fingers on that exclamation.

Another fan jumps in with, “Holyyy, that's massive.”

Indeed it is. So much so that it will bring in leagues of new fans to the franchise at the perfect point.

It’s no secret that Cyberpunk 2077 struggled on release and the developers were unhappy with the product.

It took a few years, but it’s now considered a brilliant experience, and it comes wrapped up in an ‘ultimate’ package for new fans.

“Excited to see how it runs compared to the steam deck!” comments another - the Steam Deck is, of course, another way to play in handheld, and will be a direct comparison.

“Looks like we’re jumping back in, boys!” celebrates a fan, and I’m right there with them.

I know I’ll be adding this to my list when I grab a Switch 2, and enjoying the highs and lows of the city while playing in bed.

This is huge for everyone, because it only opens up great experiences for more people, and that should be celebrated.
