Animal Crossing fans are losing their minds at a mysterious teaser from Nintendo.
It’s weird to think that it’s been five years since we all went feral over Animal Crossing: New Horizons while in lockdown.
I’ll never forget people running the turnip black markets, putting their villagers behind bars, or just plain being weird about Raymond the cat.

Animal Crossing fans were disappointed when Nintendo announced that it would be ceasing future updates to New Horizons in 2021. Although the game was really well-received, there was still some content that fans felt the game was missing.
Now, over five years after New Horizons’ initial release, a new teaser from Nintendo has got fans hoping for a surprise announcement soon.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) from Nintendo of America simply posted “Vibing. #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons” with a short video of the player villager sitting at a desk, listening to music.
Obviously, this might not be a hint of anything to come. It could just be a fun post by Nintendo of America’s social team. But of course, people will always read into stuff like this.

“What did they mean by this,” wrote one fan in the replies.
“A new Animal Crossing would fix me,” wrote another fan.
“Y'all need to stop teasing us,” a third user chimed in. “It's been YEARS without an update or anything on your NUMBER 2 top selling game! PLS DROP SOME HEAT!!!”
Remember to temper your expectations. It’s very possible that this could just be a bit of fun by the social media team at Nintendo of America.

If Nintendo is working on a new Animal Crossing game, it will be announced during an upcoming Direct. As for now though, the publisher is focused on Donkey Kong Bananza and Metroid Prime 4, which are both releasing later this year.
