Insiders have revealed another Walking Dead game is on the way, reportedly following the plot of the TV show.

Years after it hit the mainstream, The Walking Dead is still as popular as ever. The main TV show aired its final episode in November 2022, but will continue with several spin-off shows.

Check out one of those spin-offs below, Walking Dead: Dead City

These include Fear The Walking Dead, Walking Dead: Dead City, Walking Dead: World Beyond and a few more.

If more TV shows weren’t enough, fans will be excited to hear a new video game could be on the way, retelling the story of the first few seasons on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and PC platforms.

While there’s a lot of stuff we don’t yet know, as it’s purely unconfirmed rumour and speculation at the time of writing, let’s go over what’s been said about the new video game.

It was initially spotted by Reddit user LongJonSilver, who found a filing for a trademark for a game called "The Walking Dead: Destinies". Keywords included “video game”, “downloadable PC video game” and “video game to be used with mobile phones”, which all pointed to the existence of a new title coming to the latest platforms.

Recently, DeaLabs Magazine reported new information about the game, including the plot, platforms, price point and more.

Reportedly, the game will be a third-person action game that’ll follow the story of seasons 1-4 of The Walking Dead show. Players will take control of Rick Grimes, but will slowly build a team of survivors comprising of fan-favourites like Glenn, Shane, and of course, Daryl.

The game is supposedly in development for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC, and is expected to release sometime later this year, at a premium price point.

While all of this is unconfirmed, it’s not out of the question since we’ve had several Walking Dead games in the past, like the critically-acclaimed Telltale series.

Hopefully, we get an official reveal of the game soon, as it’ll be nice to relive some of the show’s best moments, most of which occurred during those first four seasons.
