We need to get our eyes checked

A game as popular and as detailed as Hogwarts Legacy was always on the cards, we simply didn’t realise it when we saw the signs.

With a second summer update dropped for Hogwarts Legacy, fans’ waning passion for the experience has been reignited.

So much so that players are finding out just how deep the lore of the Warner Bros game goes, and, it turns out, it goes quite deep.

Magic awaits in Hogwarts Legacy, even now

Shared on Reddit, user BabyBunnyOfDoom revealed a bit in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince when Hogwarts Legacy was (sort of) born.

“This moment in Half-blood Prince [...] made me think of this game. Imagine if Voldy found the ancient magic container under the school,” they commented.

From there, fans started speculating about all the various connections between the books, films, and the game.

Redditor said, “Sometimes I wonder if Dumbledore has the same Ancient Magic ability that MC has.

“But I feel we would have known if Dumbledore came in as a fifth year. Both who knows, maybe he has a similar ability but not exactly the same.”

Others wonder if the ancient magic has a preference in the age of the one who discovers it, as posited by j_wizlo.

“Just throwing my own ideas in. Maybe it prefers a certain level of maturity before accepting someone with this kind of power to start learning magic.”

Whatever the reason why the magic picks certain people, the route to the games and its lore was plotted out years before the developers even started creating the experience we so love today.

The depth on display here, however tenuous the link between the two may appear, is partly why so many fans are trying to save the sequel.

They want Hogwarts Legacy to continue being magical, not mired by microtransactions and live service.

Have you spotted this link been the past and present before? We’d never noticed it until now.
