Fans believe Rockstar Games is going to break the internet when it finally announces Grand Theft Auto VI on social media.

Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to release sometime in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and potentially PC if Rockstar doesn’t stagger the release date.

While there’s an abundance of leaks to sift through, showcasing gameplay, the open world map, and more, Rockstar is yet to give us our first proper look at the game, we don’t even have an official logo yet.

Safe to say fans are getting impatient, especially after the recent 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V. While most knew it’d simply be a celebration of the game, many expected there’d at least be a small teaser for the next game in the series, so when the anniversary came and went, with no mention of GTA VI, fans were left heartbroken.

So, for the foreseeable future, it’s back to waiting, though fans expect when an official teaser does surface online, it might just break the internet.

Reddit user BroPleaseListenToMe made a post saying: “Imagine social media on the day Rockstar reveals GTA 6. Can you imagine how many reactions and views Rockstar will get on the first reveal posts and trailers?”

It was accompanied by stats from some of Rockstar’s previous game announcement posts, like the 564,000 likes when they acknowledged GTA VI was in development, and the 37 million views the Red Dead Redemption 2 teaser got on YouTube.

Fans are anticipating the GTA VI announcement to break all records, like becoming one of YouTube’s most-watched videos in under 24 hours, or shutting down several online servers due to web traffic.

It’s still unclear when Rockstar could drop the teaser, and whether it’ll be shared as part of a larger event, like The Game Awards, or primarily through its own social media channels.

When Grand Theft Auto VI is released, it’ll launch on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and potentially PC.
