GTA 6 alleged release date appears online, is much sooner than we'd expected

GTA VI’s release date has appeared online, though maybe take it with a pinch of salt

The release schedule for GTA VI’s marketing line-up as well as its official release has supposedly been leaked online, though take it with a pinch of salt.

Despite there being some great games set to release this year, gamers across all platforms are seeing 2024 as a filler year before GTA VI releases in 2025. The first official trailer for the game was released in December, earlier than planned due to a leak, and fans are already going wild for a second trailer.

It’s no understatement to say Rockstar Games is under a lot of pressure to perform with its next Grand Theft Auto, and the hype is unbelievably high despite it being over a year away from release.

While an official release date hasn’t been given it hasn’t stopped fans from theorising. However, some are going a step further and speculating on when we’ll get the next few trailers, including our first look at the next iteration of GTA Online.

Reddit user AlienUfo51 shared a full list of dates reckoning the next trailer will debut on 19 April this year. It went on to prophesy the game’s release date will be 7 February 2025, shortly followed by GTA Online’s release on 11 April 2025.

Obviously this needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as Rockstar Games hasn’t said a word on any future release dates, so these dates might as well have been pulled out of thin air.

Commenters on the post were equally sceptical, with one mockingly saying “Source: trust me, bro,” and another adding “Believe everything on Twitter…”

Some were slightly more optimistic, saying the Valentines Day release date would “make sense” given the game’s protagonists, Lucia and Jason, are a couple.

In the meantime, fans will continue to rewatch the GTA VI trailer, which is still racking up views weeks after its release, and keep speculating on when we might finally get our hands on the game.
