Grand Theft Auto V players are in for a treat, as Rockstar Games finally lets us drive the train.

It’s funny what things in life bring us joy, a fulfilling relationship, getting the job you always wanted, the train in GTA V, the list goes on.

Next year it’ll, hopefully, be GTA VI bringing us joy, and you can see the trailer for it below

That’s right, the train that regularly circles the map in GTA V has been an odd source of fun for hundreds of players since the game first came out.

People have ridden it to safety, been run over by it, tried to stop it with an assortment of roadblocks and explosives and tried to drive but like time itself it’s untouchable and never stops chugging along.

That is until now, as Rockstar Games recently released the next major update for GTA Online, which will finally let you ride and control the train.

The only catch is you’ll have to play a certain mission to do it, one of the Cluckin Bell Farm Raid missions to be exact.

Rockstar’s latest update revolves around the infamous fast-food chicken company found in the game’s world which has been taken over by the cartel, leading to the player hijacking a train and using it to infiltrate one of the factories.

Unfortunately players still can’t drive the train during free-roam of the open world, but you never know perhaps Rockstar Games will finally give players the power to take the locomotive for a spin sometime in the future.

The alternative is waiting for GTA VI to roll around, which will reportedly have an enormous open world spanning an in-game US state.

Surely Rockstar aren’t expecting us to drive such long distances so there’ll likely be plenty of planes, boats and, potentially trains, to get us from A to B in the shortest time possible.
