An Elden Ring player took preparation to the next level in their playthrough, by grinding 10,000,000 runes.

It’s common in FromSoftware games to feel under-levelled for whatever challenges lie ahead. Dark Souls and Bloodborne had me second-guessing my current power level during several boss fights, and sometimes you need that little bit of extra firepower to make it to the next area.

For a game like Elden Ring, it’s pretty easy to gain a few extra levels thanks to its enormous open world, filled with basic enemies as well as more optional bosses than any prior FromSoftware game. That being said, it doesn’t hurt to be thorough with your levelling, like one player who their farming to the extreme and garnered enough runes to level up around 160 times.

The player, Isho357 on Reddit, shared a screenshot of their rune count which hit a whopping grand total of 10,023,206. They said this was after “48 hours of farming,” after which they can “finally play the game.”

When asked how they obtained so many runes the user said they’d immediately gone to Dragonbarrow, which is more of a late-game area, and slayed all the bosses they could find.

Fans were blown away by the commitment, as well as the confidence of carrying them all at the same time, especially since the player could have lost them all if they unexpectedly died.

One player joked “Are you playing as Elden Beast?”

Another added “*immediately dies before levelling up.”

Then someone asked “Shouldn't this get you from like level 1 to at least 80?’ to which another user did some quick maths and confirmed over 10,000,000 runes could bring a level 1 player all the way up to level 160.

The funniest part is even with all of those levels, you’re likely still outclassed by just about everything in the game. That’s not even counting the upcoming DLC which will likely be the most challenging expansion FromSoftware has ever developed.
